Overview
The GD International School Music Studio is a 1,200 sq ft sound-treated, air-conditioned facility dedicated to vocal and instrumental learning. Instruments include: 2 grand upright pianos, 8 keyboards (Yamaha & Casio), 4 harmoniums, 6 sitars, 10 tabla sets, 6 guitars (acoustic and electric), 3 violins, 4 Congo/djembe drums, full 10-piece junior drum-kit, bongo, flute sets, ghungroo, manjira, kartal, dholak and an Indian classical Tanpura box. A recording mini-studio with USB audio interface, condenser microphones and studio monitors lets students record and listen to their practice sessions.
Music classes are compulsory for all classes I–VIII with elective options for IX–XII (CBSE Music subject code 044 Vocal / 045 Instrumental). The Senior and Junior Choirs rehearse twice a week and perform at Assembly, Annual Day and external competitions. The school Band (brass + percussion) performs at the Sports Day march-past and Investiture Ceremony every year.
