Overview
The school Medical Room / Infirmary is a 4-bed, air-conditioned facility on the ground floor (close to the main school gates for quick ambulance access) manned by a qualified GNM-educated Staff Nurse (8-hour shift during school hours) under the supervision of a panel of 3 local consulting doctors (Paediatrician, General Physician and Emergency Medicine doctor) available on call 24×7. Facilities include: two patient beds with side rails, BP apparatus, glucometer, pulse-oximeter, thermometer, nebuliser, oxygen cylinder, fully stocked first-aid boxes, disposable gloves and masks, refrigerator for vaccines, ECG machine, eyewash station and a separate isolation room for students showing symptoms of contagious illness.
Every student has a digital health card recording growth parameters (height, weight, BMI, vision screening, dental check-up), immunisation history and allergy information. Comprehensive annual medical and dental check-ups are organised in school; parent consent is obtained before any medical intervention. Emergency contacts and ambulance numbers are prominently displayed; parents are notified immediately if any child requires more than basic first aid.
