Overview
Cultural Activity at GD International School covers every major Indian festival and several international observances throughout the academic session — Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Diwali, Children's Day, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Christmas, Republic Day, Basant Panchami, Holi, Eid, Baisakhi, Earth Day and more. Each celebration is woven into the timetable with special assemblies, art/craft, group songs, dances, fancy dress and themed food.
The highlight is the Inter-House Cultural Festival held in October each year: one full day of competitive music (vocal & instrumental), dance (classical, folk, western, group), theatre (one-act play, mime, street-play) and fine arts (painting, rangoli, collage, sculpture, pot-pourri). Judges are invited performing-arts professionals; overall House Culture Trophy and Best Performer awards are given out.
