Overview
At GD International School, we understand discipline as SELF-discipline — an inner compass of right choices, not merely a list of prohibitions enforced through fear. Our pastoral care framework rests on the four pillars of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Reflection. Every teacher is a pastoral mentor; 15–20 students are assigned to each class teacher for the full year to ensure long-term relational care.
Progressive, tiered response governs every incident of concern: (1) one-to-one gentle correction and goal-setting by class teacher, (2) reflection task and parent phone-call, (3) meeting with student counsellor and behaviour contract, (4) formal meeting with Principal and parents including written improvement plan, (5) only in extreme and repeated cases — temporary suspension and/or Board-level intervention. Corporal punishment is strictly forbidden and zero-tolerance.
