Overview
GD International School has two 13-passenger KONE machine-room-less (MRL) elevators (lifts) serving all 5 floors plus terrace. Each lift has stainless steel interiors, mirror panels, LED lighting, emergency alarm, intercom to security control room, battery backup auto-descend (landing on nearest floor during power failure) and dedicated wheelchair priority space. A dedicated staircase chair-lift serves the ramp to first floor for students with permanent mobility challenges.
Use of lifts is restricted to staff, PWD students and escorted visitors during regular hours; students in emergencies only (e.g. injury, health episode) with a teacher present. Lift usage schedule for exam material and event equipment is planned by Admin. The lifts are maintained under Annual Maintenance Contract with monthly servicing and load-testing certificates as per statutory requirements.
